Galena/Jo Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau Staff   

The Convention & Visitors Bureau is one of several departments within Jo Daviess County’s governmental structure. As such, Bureau staff members are employees of the county.



Katherine Walker, Executive Director

Ms. Walker is responsible for directing and leading the bureau towards its mission. She works directly with the Jo Daviess County Board, the CVB Board of Directors and staff/contractors to prepare and implement the destination's annual strategic plan.


Judy Gratton, Visitor Services Manager

Ms. Gratton oversees the daily operation of the Old Train Depot Visitor Information Center. In addition to meeting and greeting visitors, her program is responsible for fulfilling requests for information from phone and e-mails.


Melosa Belger, Event Coordinator

Ms. Belger is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing festivals, events and sporting activities that attract overnight visitors to Jo Daviess County. She encourages the development of new events while working to expand existing events by providing technical and marketing support to local groups.


Mary Althof, Administrative Assistant

Ms. Althof is responsible for providing clerical, reception and financial reporting support for the administrative office of the Galena/Jo Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau.


Celestino Ruffini, Director of Sales & Marketing

Mr. Ruffini's responsibilities include administering the CVB's meeting planning and motorcoach program, attending industry trade shows, maintaining the CVB’s Destination Planner, reviewing meeting/group tour RFPs and forwarding qualified leads to lodging properties.

He is also responsible for coordinating internal and external communication programs, promoting the destination to travel writers and media outlets, producing the annual Visitors Guide, maintaining the CVB’s Web site and e-newsletter, and promoting the destination via social media.
